Abilities First collaborates closely with a variety of partners, including nonprofits, businesses, and civic organizations. We provide funding to support some nonprofits and build partnerships with businesses and community groups to enhance services and opportunities available to the people we serve. These partnerships help us create a more inclusive community by expanding resources and delivering improved support.

Funds provided by the Abilities First Board are not intended to constitute a permanent or recurring portion of the annual budget of any recipient. Funding by the Abilities First Board to not-for-profit service providers shall be used to augment rather than supplant funding received from other sources.
Speaking Up For Inclusion
Abilities First takes an active role in educating elected officials about the unmet needs and challenges faced by people with disabilities. We believe it is essential that policymakers fully understand how their decisions impact services vital to the well-being and independence of the people we serve.
